Special Strides

In March 2010, the Kumon Center of Howell participated in a fundraiser for Special Strides Therapeutic Riding (and Driving) Center. Several learning assistants (Ms. Sam, Ms. Emily, Ms. Gabby, Mr. Scott, Ms. Erica and Mr. Barn Dance 2010Emad) worked hard and raised over $2,000 for the scholarship fund at Special Strides.

Special Strides is located in Monroe, NJ. They provide hippotherapy, therapeutic riding and therapeutic driving to over 100 students weekly. As a volunteer at Special Strides, Ms. Connie has seen first hand the impact this program has on children with learning and physical disabilities.

 

Summer Reading 2010

In cooperation with Barnes and Noble of Howell, THINK Newspaper and the Howell Township Department of Parks and Recreation, we are sponsoring a summer long FREE reading program. The goal of the program is to encourage students from the area to read for pleasure all summer long. A series of events will take place ending in a family "read-in" event. Details will be forthcoming!
